Creating your first form

Create an unpublished survey and give respondents a clear introduction.

You need permission to create a page in the Survey category.

  1. Choose Make a new page or media, enter a title, and choose Survey.
  2. Leave Published unchecked and create the page.
  3. In Description, write a short introduction: what the form is for, who should complete it, and what happens after submission.
  4. Find the Thank you text explanation in the description's Block panel. Write a message such as “Thank you. We will contact you about your visit.”
  5. Open Questions and add the fields you need.
  6. In Settings, choose Thank you text only for the result shown after submission. Leave any special handling choice unchanged unless your website manager has supplied instructions.
  7. Click Save, then View, and complete a test.

For a practice registration, ask for Your name, Your email address, and Would you like a guided visit? Keep questions short and ask only for information you will use.

Saving a form does not publish it. Even an unpublished preview can store a real test response, so use clearly labelled example data. Confirm the response appears under Results before assuming the form is ready.
