Removing a page from the website
Choose the right way to remove content.
Decide what should disappear:
- To stop ordinary visitors seeing a page, clear Published and save.
- To remove a navigation link, remove the menu item.
- To stop listing a page in a collection, remove that collection connection.
- To remove the content itself, use Delete… after checking its referrers.
After the change, check the old public URL and any relevant menus or lists in a private browser window. If another page replaces it, ask your website manager about a redirect.
A page can still be accessible even when no menu links to it. Search engines and outside websites may also retain links or copies for a while.
