SEO basics for editors
Make useful pages easy to understand and discover.
Start with the content: a specific title, a clear introduction, useful headings, and descriptive links help readers find their way.
Before publishing:
- Check that the page answers a real reader question.
- Give it an accurate title and concise summary.
- Link to it from relevant pages, menus, or collections.
- Check its public URL, image, and language versions.
- Review the page-level SEO Content fields if your role uses them.
SEO fields provide information to search engines; they do not guarantee a ranking or a particular search-result snippet. Avoid repeating keywords unnaturally. Ask your website manager about site-wide search settings rather than changing unfamiliar technical fields.
