We make web sites. Lots of them.

We add more and more features to our sites. Recently publish/subscribe using XMPP. Earlier we had our Comet and Ajax parties.

We ran into problems with the tools and frameworks we were using. XMPP likes an always-on connection with the XMPP server. Comet likes long polling, or very frequent polling. And Ajax chats away against our server.

We want to keep our web sites speedy.

We needed a new architecture.

We made Zotonic.
