[08:50:52] <simon.smithies> My configs had no {host} setting
[08:51:07] <simon.smithies> wonder if that was causing the crash

[09:33:16] <Arjan> hey simon
[09:33:25] <Arjan> no more crashes?
[09:41:31] <simon.smithies> well no ... but I just restarted the server and now it won't start
[09:42:16] <simon.smithies> has been sitting at 'Starting Zotonic zotonic001@vps783' for 15mins
[09:42:31] <simon.smithies> going to try it now in debug
[09:42:52] <simon.smithies> Ctrl-c gives me: make: *** [update-deps] Interrupt
[09:43:06] <simon.smithies> hanging on update-deps?
[09:44:14] <simon.smithies> rm -rf deps/*
[09:44:21] <simon.smithies> make in progress now
[09:45:14] <simon.smithies> Before restarting the server, I worked for a couple of hours with no crashes, so i think it's fixed
[09:49:15] <Maas> Calling 'zotonic start' will actually cause a rebuild, including an update of dependencies. I removed this rebuild from my personal projects. IMHO start should just be start and not rebuild + start.
[09:50:41] <simon.smithies> hmm .. OK I think I agree re not rebuilding on Start ... but still a problem with rebuild?
[09:56:55] <simon.smithies> wow. starts quick without the build
[10:02:13] <Arjan> maas - igree
[10:02:18] <Arjan> i agree
[10:11:19] <simon.smithies> Zotonic is running great
[10:13:36] <simon.smithies> Thanks once again for the help - and the fix Maas
[10:14:12] <simon.smithies> I'm going to try an early night tonight
[10:14:29] <Maas> It sure was an adventure finding the problem :-) Good night.
[10:14:48] <simon.smithies> you said it :) cu

[15:48:19] <andreas.stenius> your sparkline experiments... what are you using for them?
[15:48:29] <andreas.stenius> uhm.. Maas: *
[15:50:41] <Maas> I wrote a module a while ago. https://github.com/mmzeeman/mod_sparky it uses sparky.js (which looked the nicest) it uses rafael and also d3 I think.
[15:51:52] <Maas> Wanted to experiment with live updating, but still didn't found the time.
[15:52:46] <Maas> Maybe it is also a bit awkward to have them updating automatically.
[15:53:05] <Maas> Too much happening on the page then
[16:30:46] <Arjan> im gonna go to the PHP conference in Newcastle
[16:30:51] <Arjan> http://conference.phpne.org.uk/
[16:31:10] <Arjan> I'll convert to Erlang as much PHP guys as I can!
[16:31:11] <Arjan> :)
[16:32:35] <Maas> :-)
[16:36:13] <Maas> I'm still trying to convert my "drupal" brother in law
[16:37:58] <Maas> Are you going to give a "Modernizing legacy PHP applications with Zotonic" talk? :p
[16:38:35] <Arjan> heh
[16:38:45] <Arjan> yeah, guerilla style
[16:38:50] <Arjan> I should bring my zotonic flag
[16:38:54] <Arjan> and bandana
[16:38:55] <Arjan> :P
[16:39:43] <Maas> :-)
[16:40:55] <Maas> My brother in law thinks zotonic is nice, but he doesn't see the added value of the speed (yet).
[16:41:11] <Arjan> tss
[16:41:24] <Arjan> there are so many sites out there that are so fucking slow for no reason
[16:42:31] <Maas> Hardware torture.
[16:43:24] <Maas> He just slaps a cache in front of the side and that's that.
[16:43:32] <Maas> ehh site.
[16:47:27] <Maas> Like the site of erlang-solutions.com <http://erlang-solutions.com> ;-)
[16:47:44] <Maas> :-p
[16:49:35] <Arjan> yeah
[16:49:42] <Arjan> we should do them a favor and port it to Zotonic
[16:49:49] <Arjan> anyhow
[16:49:51] <Arjan> gotta pack my bags
[16:50:19] Arjan leaves the room
[16:50:23] <Maas> If you listen carefully you hear the disks squeak during loading...

[18:57:04] <Marc Worrell> "Scale up" goes a long way nowadays :)
[19:04:51] <Marc Worrell> Though the VPS machines of TransIP seem to give more memory/cpu for your money: https://www.transip.nl/vps/pro-prijzen-en-bestellen/
