[10:44:16] <maas.maarten.zeeman> For my kids I'm thinking setting up a whitelist email service, so that their accounts only support whitelisted addresses. Would this be something zotonic's smtp server could do?
[11:59:58] <Marc Worrell> You mean they can only receive/send to whitelisted addresses?
[12:00:42] <Marc Worrell> I am wondering about something completely different: to be able to overrule a model :)
[12:01:20] <Marc Worrell> I have this license module in maxclass - that needs to do something completely different in another project with maxclass.
[12:04:09] <Marc Worrell> Maybe I just add a config key :p
[12:04:30] <Marc Worrell> To overrule some routines in the license model code.
[12:09:40] <maas.maarten.zeeman> yes only send and receive to whitelisted addresses. Will check what happens when i point the ipad's outgoing smtp to a zotonic server... :-)
[12:11:15] <maas.maarten.zeeman> Do you mean override the model with prio? Or just a config key in a proplist... Maybe we should extend the syntax a little bit. A while ago you added the with syntax for models..
[12:11:44] <Marc Worrell> I just hacked the model problem - will think about a nicer solution.
[12:11:59] <Marc Worrell> Problem is our namespace - models are also called directly from the Erlang code.
[12:12:56] <Marc Worrell> Hmmm - your smtp problem is interesting. You can most definitely filter traffic, maybe modify (or sit in front of) the e-mail forwarder?
[12:13:13] <Marc Worrell> We don't have an active smtp server to relay e-mail though....
[12:13:28] <maas.maarten.zeeman> True.. hmm... btw, the url tag should be a model, but because of syntax problems it is a scomp.
[12:15:25] <maas.maarten.zeeman> Something like that for the smtp, a sort of relay indeed. And the incomping mail can do what mod_email relay does.
[12:21:33] <maas.maarten.zeeman> Looking at all the email specs it is almost a surprise that it works... :-)
[12:22:28] <maas.maarten.zeeman> Still remember the time before fetchmail... uucp and stuff.
[13:19:18] <maas.maarten.zeeman> So I guess all I have to tweak https://github.com/zotonic/zotonic/blob/master/src/smtp/z_email_receive_server.erl#L121 a little bit for doing mail relay..
