[15:59:13] <Yves> Hello "zoteam". I'm "franstaalig" but sometimes, in the different modules, the translation is not done or correct(ed). Can I help you on that kind ?
[16:01:24] <arjan> hey
[16:01:35] <arjan> sure! that would rock :)
[16:01:50] <arjan> do you know how git and github works?
[16:02:43] <Yves> Mmmh. Just for get or update, but I can learn :-)
[16:07:22] <Yves> But I presume that a "git commit -a" is enough to put translation on the repository.
[16:11:04] <Yves> Let's say. I have installed git tools on my debian distrib and this morning, retrieved (git pull) the latest modifications.
[16:21:02] <arjan> the easiest is to get a github account
[16:21:11] <arjan> and the clone zotonic/zotonic
[16:21:19] <arjan> and pull that to your computer
[16:21:30] <arjan> then make changes, commit, push to your own clone,
[16:21:44] <arjan> and then use the "pull request" button on github to ask for a merge
[16:22:08] <arjan> github has a good help section ;)
[16:40:08] <Yves> ok, Thks. I'm reading the doc and then try to make anything in the next our/days.
[16:52:23] <arjan> nice!
[16:52:31] <arjan> we'll be here if you need more help :)
[17:01:35] <Yves> The latest question: the translations files are always into the ~/zotonic/modules/mod_<module_name>/translations ?
[17:02:03] <arjan> yes
[17:02:18] <arjan> and they need to be named <language>.po
[17:02:21] <arjan> e.g. fr.po
[17:05:35] <Maas> fyi I'm working on setting up translation project for zotonic on crowdin.
[17:05:51] <Maas> For french the url is: http://crowdin.net/project/zotonic/fr
[17:09:53] <arjan> maas: did your .po file rename already land in zotonic?
[17:11:04] <Maas> Not yet, needs some more work with the po files.
[17:11:22] <Maas> with the translations in it.
[17:12:07] <Maas> the default filenames from crowdin are a little bit different.
[17:13:20] <Yves> Another problem (not linked to crowdin) is the size available for any language item. English is the most "expressive" for that.
[17:13:48] <Maas> we need language in front of a dot. the do it like this: mod_base-nl.po
[17:14:20] <Maas> So it needs a little bit of tweaking :-)
[17:14:43] <arjan> Yves: like "edit" in dutch is called "bewerken"? (much longer string)
[17:16:53] <Maas> That is always an issue. Usually ok, but sometimes....
[17:17:25] <Maas> Would have been cool if the names could be nl.mod_base.po
[17:17:28] <Yves> exact. But you can find any workaround...
[17:17:48] <Yves> (about bewerken)
[17:20:19] <arjan> yeah, "bewerk" :)
[17:20:32] <Maas> :-)
[17:21:57] <Maas> Google translate zegt "edit"
